Five test cases were developed based on Euro NCAP testing protocols. The tests included scenarios not currently in standard AEB positive detection testing. The results are compelling. The fused thermal AEB system was successful in 25 of 25 tests at effectively preventing pedestrian injury with only two instances where the vehicle contacted, but did not knock down the SPT (soft pedestrian target).
Teledyne FLIR Automotive Development Kit (ADK) offers plug-and-play installation to start testing thermal cameras for ADAS and AV development projects. It includes a 640 x 512 resolution Boson® thermal camera in a heated all-weather IP67 housing and USB, GMSL, or FPD-Link interfaces. Thermal Vision for ADAS and AV Developers
The free thermal image dataset for ADAS and AV algorithm developers quickly evaluate the vehicle safety algorithm performance, neural network testing, and thermal sensors, such as the FLIR ADK™. It features more than 26,000 annotated thermal and RGB images captured at day and night. The dataset includes classification of fifteen groups: bike, car, motorcycle, bus, train, truck, traffic light, fire hydrant, street sign, dog, skateboard, stroller scooter, and other vehicle.
Prism AI software framework provides classification, object detection, and object tracking enabling perception engineers to quickly start integrating thermal cameras for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous vehicle (AV) systems. Developers can use Prism AI as the primary perception software or as reference while taking advantage of camera calibration tools, along with visible-and-thermal fusion and advanced image processing capabilities that offer superior perception capability, especially for pedestrian and animal detection.
Conservator™, an affordable, cloud-based dataset development software to help perception engineers accelerate AI development using thermal infrared and visible image datasets to train neural networks. Conservator includes dataset workflow tools for annotation, curation, quality assurance, and dataset version control to meet the demands of data scientists in automotive, defense, security, and smart cities applications.
